Field Work

We spotted a mama whale and a baby whale today.

Hungry, hungry, hungry, that's all mosquitoes are!

Another day, another electrolyte packet.

Looking for marine mammals has been successful these last two days.

Exposure is one of the characteristics of good photo identity.

So far, this expedition has given me the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone!

DAY 4

Maria Fernanda "Bacteria" Lizarraga

Reflection

The first two days have been the luckiest days on the field, as we've spotted marine mammals right away. How awesome is that?! My favorite part has been witnessing the physical and behavioral differences between male and female dolphins. It was also amazing to see a baby whale, as August is the month when they migrate to Costa Rica. Every day is different here and that's the beauty of it. There is so much more to learn and I can't wait to teach everyone I know about this experience!
